This was the year that Christmas was canceled. Snow here in West Linn is about 15 inches, with more expected today and tomorrow. We're going to try to catch Jamie et al by the weekend, and are trying to meet up with Jeff and Cari at the beach over New Year's. What a mess!

David hacked J&J's computer (ie sat down at it) and entered new and news worthy items.... I'm going to Hawaii with Josh and there is nothing you can do to stop us HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! Stay tuned to my posting for next summer-- what? a wedding; surely this can not be. Let me assure you--- IT BE =)

Here's my annual update to the beach page. We're going to Starks to get a decent vacuum for the beach. The one we got originally was a refurbished one from Sears and it hasn't been right from the get-go. So here's to finding a quieter, easier, lighter vacuum that miraculously cleans itself.

The bathrooms are now in REMODEL mode

The bathrooms are now in REMODEL mode. So after Labor Day (minus the Sopers who are going down for a few days), the beach house is closed for "reservations" until December when the Jeff Hanes' celebrate their anniversary.
So here is what we hope to accomplish:
1. bathroom toilets replaced
2. bathroom flooring and baseboards replaced
3. bathroom counter tops replaced, plus mirrors, sinks, and lighting
4. kitchen counter tops replaced
5. new stove/oven and dishwasher
6. take out the garbage disposal since Jim doesn't want us to use it because of the septic system.
7. Pellet stoves replaced by propane gas inserts and propane stove in the lower level. (Thank JIM for thinking of doing this and Dorothy for providing the financing)
8. And LATER: carpet replacement upstairs and downstairs where old

We are now turning the water off at the stree...

We are now turning the water off at the street source. The water key is hanging off the tool bench in the garage. The main is by the street light to the south of the house. Turn left to turn on -- you can hear the water rush through. Turn right to turn off before you leave. This requires coordination with the washing machine and dishwasher -- as well as going to the bathroom before you leave!

Holidays: Looks like the poor beach house will be empty much of December. Too much to do. Jim and I are going over for New Year's to read and relax. We're welcoming any family -- just know that New Year's day is football!

The garbage cans: ALWAYS put the cans in the little shed by the house. The garbage service PROMISES to empty the can and put it back every week. I know this has been an issue
