Livin' the Nerd Life

December 31, 2025 by Adam in Adam's Games

My fifteen year-old self would be really impressed with my life at the moment.  I play video games, roleplaying games, and am generally surrounded by nerdy things.

I finished the main Hades 2 quest, though they encourage playing through side quests and chatting with everyone.  Not sure how much more I'll play, but the moment to moment gameplay is still entertaining.  I played a little Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, though it tends to drag in comparison.  There's a little too much wandering around looking for people sometimes.

Emma and I finished Seance at Blake Manor, somehow saving everyone from whatever terrible fate would have befell them at the seance.  We had a good time breaking into everyone's rooms at the hotel and discovering their mysteries, then confronting them with their darkest secrets.  It's a treat to be given permission to do such things.

Then there are all the roleplaying games.  I started up a new D&D campaign with Jason, his daughter Riley, Jason's friend Jeff, and my old friend BJ.  It was silly fun and I got to break out all the music, maps, personalized images, and movies that I made for the group.  I threw together a movie of the party resting for the night that turned out really well.

I've started prepping a fairly epic new Delta Green campaign, longer than our usual monster-of-the-week missions.  The Impossible Landscapes campaign is held up as one of the great adventures in the roleplaying world and I've been itching to play it for a long time.  I've listened to a few playthroughs and critiques, and now it's time to do my usual prep.  I ended up making a mock Windows 3.1 screen for the players to fiddle with, along with a web page that does tarot reading, so it's coming along nicely.
