Well, I think that everyone is finally over being sick. My ears are finally unplugged (I had ear infections). To top it off, the sun came out this weekend and I got to do a little gardening.

Sam's teeth continue to pop in left and right. I was holding him upside down in front of the mirror (don't ask) and noticed his upper molars are coming in. That will come in handy when he's eating. Sam turned 16 months old yesterday. He seems so big and active, I forget that he was just born a little over a year ago. Pretty amazing.

I had a terrible experience trying to get DSL

I had a terrible experience trying to get DSL. It never worked right, the customer service was lousy, and their help desk was particularly unhelpful. I couldn't recommend it the way it stands right now. Perhaps they'll eventually offer cable modems in our area.

I had a great time playing The Sims while I was sick. I made a little Sim-Adam with various Sim neighbors. I kept trying to get Sim Jamie (one of the neighbors) to marry me. Finally, Sim Jamie accepted my proposal, but it took an awful long time.

Sam's getting over being really sick

Sam's getting over being really sick. He was so miserable for a couple days there. He'd cough and cough, then look at us pitifully and say "ouch". Poor kid. He's getting better though - last night he felt good enough to take to the Home and Garden show. Sam wasn't too impressed with the displays, but he really liked the horses in the parking lot (the show was at the fairgrounds).

Jamie's leaving for her mother's on Wednesday (nothing I did, honest!). It will be strange being by myself for a few days. I suspect I'll miss them terribly. I'm going to try to garden like a maniac while everyone is gone. As the flowers pop up, that annual frezy to prune and pluck comes over me.

I ordered fast Internet access last week, at the same time cancelled our newspaper. I'm trying hard to bring us into the great electronic future. We'll see how it pans out. If this goes well, I may try to set up my own web server and domain name (how does www.adamandjamie.com sound?). Still a few months in the future, though.

Not much going on in the world of games

Not much going on in the world of games. I'm hoping that the fast Internet access helps open up a few genres, especially online gaming. I've been playing Half-Life Team Fortress with Chris from time to time. Lots of fun, but difficult to schedule the time together. If you see a player called PIPBoy, that's me.

Well, I went out and bought some stocks on E*Trade. I'm doing fairly well, having bought Lucent when it was low. I bought Microsoft a bit high, as well as AOL, which as kept going down. Overall, I'm about 8% above where I started. After commissions, however, I've probably only made a couple hundred bucks. Seems like a lot of work for so little return. Oh well, at least it's kinda fun.

Sam is finally getting over being really sick

Sam is finally getting over being really sick. It's been hard watching him cough and sneeze. The coughs are the worst, as he looks pained and confused. Poor kid.

He's been very active and verbal these days. These days, he likes to go outside into our backyard and tromp about. He's very interested in plants, saying words like "plant", "branch", "needle", and "tree". He's also very much into animals. Probably ten to twenty percent of his vocabulary is dedicated to animals, including bear, spider, and rabbit.
